Exhibition

COIMBATORE, OCT. 3. The Poompuhar will organise an exhibition of `kolu dolls' from October 4 to 21 at the Poompuhar sales showroom here.

Symposium

The Department of Geography of the Nirmala College for Women will organise a symposium on `Recent Trends in Geography' on October 7.

Geography teachers of the local schools will also participate in the programme that will have sessions on topics such as `Recent trends in urban geography' and `Application of remote sensing techniques in geography with special reference to land use survey'.

Workshop

The Department of Catering Science and Hotel Management of the VLB Janakiammal College of Arts and Science will conduct a national workshop on `Bartending Techniques' on October 7. Hotel management and catering students from different parts of the country will participate. They will be taught to prepare mocktails and cocktails by bartenders from the Taj Malabar and Taj Residency, Kochi.

Seminar

An awareness seminar, `Empowering Youth Against High Risk Behaviour' will be organised under the NSS programme of the Bharathiar University for 70 colleges in Coimbatore, Erode and the Nilgiris from October 4 to 8.

It will be held in Tirupur on the first day, Erode on the second day, Udhagamandalam on the third day, Udumalpet on the fourth day and at the university on October 8.
