NEW DELHI, OCT. 4. Vijay Kelkar, till recently Advisor to the Union Finance Minister, has joined the board of the Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (IDFC) Asset Management Company as non-executive Chairman. IDFC AMC is the investment manager of the India Development Fund, India's largest infrastructure-focussed private fund with a corpus of Rs. 843 crores. This public-private fund was set up with the support of the Finance Ministry to facilitate development of infrastructure in the country. Dr. Kelkar, author of the Kelkar committee reports on direct and indirect taxes, is a former Finance Secretary and was also India's Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund.
