City lifts trophy
CHENNAI,
OCT. 4.
City lifted the R.K. Venkatachalam Trophy under-15 cricket tournament by virtue of its first innings lead over Combined Districts at MCC (Tambaram) on Monday.
Resuming at 25 for two, Districts finished its first innings at 121 in reply to City's 183 for eight declared. In its second essay, City was 56 for two at close. With the first match being washed out, City won the return match based on its first innings lead thereby bagging the trophy.
The scores: City 183 for eight decl. & 56 for two in 38.3 overs drew with Combined Districts 121 in 72.2 overs (J. Joel Joseph four for 6).
