KARUR, OCT. 4 . Polio drops would be given to 96,380 children in this district during the third phase of the campaign on October 10 and November 21, said the Collector, G. Ramamoorthy. A total of 31 centres would be set up in Karur and Kulithalai while another 735 centres would be set up in rural areas. They would function between 7-00 a.m. and 5-00 p.m. A total of 115 zonal officers would supervise the arrangements and efforts would be taken to ensure that no child would be left.

Polio drops will be administered to over 2.70 lakh children in Tiruchi district during pulse polio immunisation campaign, the District Revenue Officer, P. Senthil Kumar, said. Addressing a consultative meeting held to finalise the arrangements for the campaign here recently, he said polio drops would be administered to the children through 1,470 centres. A total of 7,835 persons including government servants, self-help group members and volunteers would be involved. Efforts would be made to ensure 100 per cent coverage. In the corporation limits, about 87,187 children would be administered. As many as 10,000 children would be covered in Manapparai and Thuraiyur municipalities respectively and 1.73 lakh children would be covered in rural areas. Special identification marks would be affixed to all children, who were covered under the drive. The Joint Director of Health Services, Adi Krishnan, and other senior health officials participated.
