COIMBATORE, OCT. 5. The tourist inflow in the State till the end of August this year has gone up. The Commissioner of Tourism and the Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation, Shakthikanta Das, told presspersons here on Monday that the growth of domestic tourists during January to August this year was 12 per cent as compared to the corresponding period last year. The growth rate of foreign tourists for the same period was 17.5 per cent as compared to the same period last year. Earlier, speaking at an interaction programme with members of the Coimbatore District Small Industries' Association (CODISSIA), he suggested that more information should be provided in the website of the association. It should include materials about the conference and exhibition facilities here, hospitals, hotels and the places to see around Coimbatore. The association should come out with brochures and CDs on these, he said.
