THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, OCT. 5. The last date for sending preliminary entries for The Hindu Young World painting competition to be held here on November 21 has been extended to October 25 on the basis of requests from the authorities of several schools. They are to be sent to the Regional Manager, The Hindu , T.C. No. 36/1946 (1), Airport Road, Vallakadavu, Thiruvananthapuram, 695008.
No entry fee
There is no entry form or entry fee to participate in the competition. All you have to do is to draw the painting on a white drawing sheet of 26 by 27 cm size selecting one of the topics given below, get it certified by your art teacher or Principal as your own work, write your name, age, class, school and residential address and send it. The topics for juniors (Classes Four to Seven) are `Visit to an aquarium', `A birthday party', `Your classroom' and `Enjoying an ice-cream' and for seniors (Classes Eight to Ten) are `At the Olympics', `A flower show', `An evening by the sea' and `Trekking on the hill'. The selected students would be intimated individually and they should come to the venue, which will be announced later with the intimation letter for the finals that will begin at 9 a.m. The topics for the finals will be given at the venue. The prize distribution will be done at the venue of the competition later on the same day. Apart from first, second and third prizes, consolation prizes would also be given. Participation certificates will be given to the other finalists.
