Hat-trick by Niwan

PANAJI, OCT. 5 Hat-trick by Niwan Ojathoh led defending champion Meghalaya to a 7-0 win over Jammu and Kashmir in their second match at the 27th sub junior under-16 National football championship on Tuesday.

In another match, Tamil Nadu beat Goa 2-0, with Devadas and Murugan scoring.

Meghalaya, which launched a whirlwind assault, scored three goals in 10 minutes. It moved ahead in the 6th minute with Amethi Tongfer's 1-0. Then Niwan completed his hat-trick in the 8th, 10th and 30th minute to give his side a 4-0 at the breather.

Jammu and Kashmir, which had defeated host Goa 3-1, today allowed the rival to freely march ahead.

After the cross-over, Meghalya did not look back, scoring three more goals through Amethi Tongfer in the 64th minute (his brace).

Kryshan Syiemlieh made it 6-0 in the 75th minute and Sarios Marbamang completed the tally scoring the 7th goal for its side, which won the match with ease.— UNI
