NEW DELHI, OCT. 5. Slaughter house politics in the Capital got a new twist today with the Bhlaswa-Jehangirpuri Congress MLA, Jile Singh Chauhan, strongly opposing any move to relocate the abattoir from its original site at Ghazirpur to Bhalaswa landfill site. A meeting of prominent leaders of the area has been convened to decide the future course of action against this move. "I am making it absolutely clear that I will not allow the relocation of the abattoir at the Bhalaswa landfill site. The idea is ill-founded and will be strongly opposed at all levels by the people of the area. A number of important projects are coming up around the landfill site and along the Sanjay Gandhi Lake and such a move will destroy the aesthetics of the area which will not be allowed at any cost,'' remarked Mr. Chauhan.
