JJ College of Engineering, Tiruchi, (Zone 8) entered the semifinals of the Anna University inter-zone (champion colleges) football tournament defeating Tiruvallur Engineering College (zone 5) 3-1 here on Tuesday.
The results (Quarterfinals): JJ bt Tiruvallur 3-1; Karunya, Coimbatore (zone 7) bt Jaya, Chennai (zone 3) 2-1. Arulmigu Kalasalingam, Krishnankovil (zone 10) bt College of Engg, Guindy (zone 2) 3-0. Adhiyaman, Hosur (zone 6) bt Crescent, Chennai (zone 1) 1-0.
Inter-zone tournament (teams comprising players selected from other colleges excepting champion colleges): Quarterfinals: Zone 8 bt Zone 5 2-1; Zone 2 bt Zone 3 2-1; Zone 10 bt Zone 4 1-0.
