THRISSUR, OCT. 5. Banks will be providing Rs. 1,417.47 crores for the priority sector and Rs. 752.37 crores for the non-priority sector in the district this year, according to an official release here today. The banks disbursed Rs. 547.14 crores as loan in the first three months of the current financial year, marking a substantial increase from the previous year's figure of Rs. 409.88 crores. Out of the amount disbursed this year, Rs. 309.09 crores was given to the priority sector and Rs. 238.05 crores sanctioned for the non-priority sector. This year, the banks sanctioned Rs. 104.95 crores for agriculture and allied sectors, Rs. 20.78 crores for the small industries sector and Rs. 183.36 crores for other priority sectors.
