Disposed of
Justice K. Balakrishnan Nair today disposed of a writ petition filed by the manager and principal of the Sree Vivekananda Higher Secondary School, Nilambur against the Lok Ayukta's order directing that the complaint of irregularities in the school admission be filed before the police. The court said that the petitioner could approach appropriate authorities under the Kerala Education Act for an independent inquiry into the allegations. The petitioners contended that the Lok Ayukta had no power to refer the complaint to the police. In fact, the police did not have any authority to inquire into the allegations. It was the education authorities concerned who should order an inquiry into the matter.
