VISAKHAPATNAM, OCT. 5. Monday's well-marked low pressure area over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining south Orissa weakened and lies over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and its neighbourhood on Tuesday, according to a special weather bulletin issued by the Cyclone Warning Centre here. Under its influence, rain or thundershowers are likely at many places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh with heavy falls at one or two places over Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts during the next 24 hours. The chief amount of rainfall recorded in cm. during the last 24-hour period ending at 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday over the coastal Andhra Pradesh: Patapatnam - 19; Tekkali - 12; Palasa - 8; Macherla - 5; Prattipadu - 3; Guntur - 2 and Nuzivid - 1.
