Nagesh stuns Yashas

BANGALORE, OCT. 5. Bangalore's R Nagesh defeated top seed D.K. Yashas of Shimoga in the third round of the State Under -9 chess tournament. Three players including Nagesh shared the lead in the boys' section after the third round and in the girls' section, there was a four way tie for the lead after the second round.

The results:

Boys (3rd round): R Nagesh bt D.K. Yashas; M.G. Gahan drew with Kedar Vaze; M. Vigram lost to G.A. Stany; A. Balkishen bt Sameer Ahmed; Shahrukh Sait lost to A. Girish; D. Srijan lost to Sumith Bhat; Vikram Hanji lost to H.S. Karthik.

Girls (2nd round): Shristi Shetty bt M. Priyadarshini; Pavithra Jagtap bt Prajna D'Silva; Neha Patkar bt Anusha; Akshatha Bhat bt Deepika.
