BANGALORE, OCT. 5. Rahul Dravid released Vedam Jaishankar's latest book: Casting a spell the story of Karnataka cricket, a book that chronicles the state's cricket history, here on Tuesday. "We need to learn from the past to know the path we are going. And all that we have achieved has been built on what our great, former cricketers have done in the past. A book like this must be a compulsory read for our junior cricketers," Dravid said. Anil Kumble spoke of the respect Karnataka cricketers get when with the Indian team. "The moment we say we are from Karnataka, we get respect in the National team and that is because of the impeccable conduct of our former greats. I am glad an effort has been made to trace our history and I wish the KSCA well in its future plans," Kumble said. Javagal Srinath reminded Kumble and Dravid of their unfinished tasks. "Anil, 400 wickets is very near but 500 is not far. And Rahul, you are a living legend but let me give you a harsh reminder. You haven't scored a Test century here at this ground. I wish you two the very best and I hope the author Vedam Jaishankar keeps nourishing this book with more details as we move on in history," Srinath said.
