MAHABUBNAGAR, OCT. 5. A housewife was allegedly gangraped by seven youths, who were in an inebriated condition, near Sherpally (B) village of Bhootpoor mandal late on Monday night. According to the Anna Sagar police, the youths saw the woman waiting at a petrol bunk on National Highway 7 near the village and forcibly took her away to the backside of a shed beside the petrol bunk and allegedly raped her. It is learnt that they threatened staff of the petrol bunk when they tried to rescue the hapless woman. On information given by the staff over phone, the Anna Sagar and Jadcherla police rushed to the spot. The police arrested four of the accused persons. The remaining were said to be at large. The accused persons have been identified as Saltoor Rakesh Goud, Likki Rajesh Goud, Nelli Yadagiri, Shankrolla Raj Goud and Ravi Kumar Yadav of Bhootpoor and Sinramoni Srinivasulu and S. aresh of Sherpally. The woman and her husband, a Central Government employee, of Mahabubnagar went to the village to repay the loan amount they had taken from the Mahalaxmi group around 9 p.m. When the couple reached the petrol bunk, there was a heavy downpour. The employee left his wife near the shed and went alone to the village to pay the loan amount.
