WARANGAL, OCT. 5. The Deputy Superintendent of Police (Rural), M. Ravindranath Babu, has urged students to refrain from ragging. Addressing students of SR Engineering College on an awareness programme on ragging at Ananthasagar today, the DSP warned students that they would forego all opportunities in life, including a job in any organisation, if booked under the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Prohibition of Ragging Act. "The penal provisions of the Act are very strict. Once booked a student's fate is sealed forever. Hence, students should be aware of the Act,'' he noted.
Inspector's advice
The Mamnoor Circle Inspector, Chandrasekhar Avadhani, said joy meant different things to different persons, but nobody would enjoy harassing a fellow human being. He advised students to make best use of time and facilities being provided at colleges and excel in careers. The Hasanparthy CI, A. Venkateswar Rao, A. Madhusudan, SI, the college secretary, A. Madhukar Reddy, the Principal, G.V. Praveen, and others were present.
