CHENNAI, OCT. 5. A 12-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide after being scolded by her teachers for securing low marks. Police said Sandhya of Choolai, studying in VII standard in a school in the same area, was scolded by her teachers for her poor performance in the quarterly examinations. When she came back home, the girl allegedly poured kerosene and set herself aflame. She was admitted to the Kilpauk Medical College hospital, where she died later. Choolai police are investigating.
