HYDERABAD, OCT. 5. A petition filed by the Gujarat police seeking the transit remand of Naseeruddin, who was arrested on charge of being an agent of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, was rejected by the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of City Civil Courts on Tuesday. The Gujarat police could not explain why they could not obtain the signature of the judge concerned on the transit remand. Though police maintained that the Court Registrar's signature was secured on the remand documents, the CMM declared it invalid. On learning about the Court's order, Naseeruddin's family members withdrew their hunger strike.
