THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, OCT. 6. Three more prosecution witnesses were today cross- examined in the magistrate court trying the case filed by the police against the former Transport Minister, A. Neelalohitadasan Nadar, on the basis of a complaint given by the former Transport Secretary, Nalini Netto. The charge against Mr. Nadar is that he had tried to outrage the modesty of Ms. Nalini Netto at his office in the Legislative Assembly complex on December 21, 1999.
No evidence
The former Chief Secretary, M. Mohan Kumar, told the Judicial First Class Magistrate-III, Cherian. K. Kuriakose, that he had no evidence to suggest that Ms. Netto as Transport Secretary in 1999 had shown any special interest in awarding the consultancy on studying the traffic problems in Thiruvananthapuram to any particular firm. This had been an argument raised by the defence side in the case.
Two persons met Nadar
Ms. Anantha Lakshmi, who was a section officer at the Legislative Complex in December, 1999, told the court that only two persons had visited the room of the former minister on the day of the alleged incident. The then Circle Inspector (Musuem), Vasudevan Nair, was also cross-examined today. Meanwhile, the court admitted as evidence in the case the tour diary of the former Chief Minister, E. K. Nayanar, in 2000. The Inspector General of Vigilance, T. P. Senkumar, is scheduled to be cross-examined by the court on Thursday.
