Ranipet beats Jagadishpur

HYDERABAD, OCT.6. Ranipet defeated Jagadishpur 3-1 in the first round of the BHEL inter-unit badminton championship which began at BHEL Corporate Club Indoor Hall (Balanagar) near here on Wednesday.

The results: Team championship: Men: Corp R & D, Hyd bt JK Trichy 3-0 (G.K.Raju bt R.Gunasekaran 15-4, 15-9; Jayaraman bt K.Karthikeyan 15-7, 15-17, 15-8; S.K.Phadee & G.K.Raju bt R.Gunasekaran & Karthikeyan 15-4, 15-10). Ranipet bt Jagadishpur 3-1 (A.K.Verma lost to S.C.Soubhari 10-15, 10-15; Narayanaswamy bt R.M.Singh 15-7, 15-5; N.Swamy & Varadarajan bt S.C.Soubhari & R.M.Singh 15-5, 15-6; Varadarajan bt Udaya Kishore 15-0, 15-1).
