Madras University in quarterfinals

ANNAMALAI NAGAR, OCT. 6. Madras, Pondicherry and Kerala Universities entered the quarterfinals of the South Zone inter-university (men's) Badminton tournament here on Wednesday.

The results (pre-quarterfinals): Madras bt Mangalore 3-0 (Mallik Jallal bt Deeresh 15-4, 15-0; Juraliseharan bt Ritesh 15-7, 15-2; Mallik Jallal/Karthikeyan bt Amith and Charan 15-7, 15-7); Pondichrry bt Sri Venkateshwara 3-0 (Satheesh bt Yegneswar Moorthy 15-1, 15-4; Sakthivel bt Praveen 15-6, 15-4; Sakthivel/Rajendan bt Yagneshwar Moorthy/Praveen 15-3, 15-7); Kerala bt Bharathiar University 3-1 (Tarique Mohamed lost to Vijay 7-15, 8-15; Aravind bt Dayanidhi 15-4, 15-4; Iyyappan/Tarique Mohamed bt Jambulingam/Varun Anand 15-5, 15-5, Iyyappan bt Saravanan 15-5, 15-3).
