LIC South Zone H1 premium income up
CHENNAI: LIC of India, South Zone, comprising Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Pondicherry and Lakshadweep has closed the half year ended September 30, 2004 with a growth of 155.4 per cent in its new business premium in individual segment. Business premium collected was Rs. 672 crores against Rs. 263 crores. The south zone has completed sales of 10.21 lakh policies with an assured amount of Rs. 8,544 crores. The group business as at September 30 has collected a new business premium of Rs. 289 crores against Rs. 56 crores. Total premium income stood at Rs. 4,000 crores, a growth of 40 per cent.
