Annamalai men in final

ANNAMALAI NAGAR, OCT. 8. Host Annamalai University entered the men's final of the south zone inter-university badminton tournament with a 3-0 win over Madras University here on Friday.

Annamalai will meet in the final Bangalore University, which toppled Nagarjuna University, champion for the last three years, also by a similar margin in the other semifinal.

Venkatesh, Tamil Nadu State No. 1 won the first singles over Karthikeyan of Madras easily at 15-7, 15-2 and then partnering Pradeep, he won the doubles defeating Malik Jalal and Karthikeyan 15-7, 15-2, after Yuvaraj had beaten Joe Pradeep 15-1, 13-15, 15-1in the second singles.

The results (Women's tournament): Pre-quarterfinals: Annamalai bt Cochin 2-0; Madras bt Kakatiya 2-0; Bangalore bt Mangalore 2-0; Anna University bt Andhra 2-0; Vishweswariah University bt Bharatidasan 2-0; JNDU, Hyderabad w/o Gulbarga; Kuvembu bt Mysore 2-0; Kerala bt Alagappa University 2-1.
