KOCHI, OCT. 8. The host Mahatma Gandhi University (Kottayam) entered the men's and women's quarterfinals of the all-India inter-university softball championship at the St. Peter's College (Kolencherry) on Friday. Mahatma Gandhi blanked Mangalore 10-0 in the men's section and Bangalore 13-9 in the women's.
Men: Amaravathy bt Kannur 12-1; Swamy Ramananth Theerth bt Mohanlal Sukadia 13-6; Mahatma Gandhi (Kottayam) bt Mangalore 10-0; Devi Ahalya Vidyapeeth bt Kerala 2-0; Calicut bt Bangalore 13-7.
Women: Pune bt Amaravathi 13-1; GNDU (Amritsar) bt T.M. Bagalpur 10-0; Delhi bt Kerala 10-3; Mahatma Gandhi (Kottayam) bt Bangalore 13-9.
