Ashok takes lead

GURGAON, OCT. 8. Ashok Kumar fired a nine-under 63 to equal the course record and open a four-stroke lead after the penultimate round of the HT Pro golf tournament at the Classic Golf Resort here on Friday. Ashok led with an astonishing tally of 18-under after having equalled Thongchai Jaidee's course record set three years ago.

The scores: Ashok Kumar (66, 69, 63) 198; Shamim Khan (65, 70, 67) and Shiv Kapur (68, 68, 66) 202; C. Muniyappa (71, 67, 65) 203; Mukesh Kumar (70, 69, 67) 206; Amritinder Singh (71, 69, 67), Vinod Kumar (66, 73, 68) and D.S.
