`Dengue vector more dangerous'

NIZAMABAD,
OCT. 8.
Dengue fever, which caused serious concern in the north Telangana and Khammam districts recently, was born out of poor management of stagnant water, according to Sanjay, professor in Paediatrics.
The vector, Aedes Aegypti, which carries the disease, is more dangerous than malaria, which, till recent past, was confined to Tamil Nadu and Delhi. Strangely, paediatricians in the State were not aware of the disease till three years ago.
This year, a number of dengue cases were detected in Godavarikhani, Manchirial, Ramagundam, Jagityal and Karimnagar and Nizamabad and Khammam districts.
