HYDERABAD, OCT. 8. A dozen children, including six girls, will get a fresh lease of life with the cine star, V. Rajasekhar and his wife, Jeevitha, announcing financial assistance for the cardiac procedures they require. The announcement came at a function held at the Lake View Guesthouse, on Friday. The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, released the audio for `Aptudu', starring Dr. Rajasekhar and produced by Jeevitha. Those present included T. Subbirami Reddy, MP and TTD Chairman, the thespian, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, and the CEO, Mediciti Hospitals, R. Vijai Kumar.
Surgery at Mediciti
The Mediciti Hospitals will operate upon 10 children. They include two from the twin cities - 10 month old Muralikrishna from Ashok Nagar and Krishna (12) from Langer Houz, a month-and-a-half old Sravani, J. Madhukar (5) and Vanitha (14), all from Warangal, two months-old Lakshmi from Bakrapet, Solomon Stains from Ghanpur in Rangareddy district, Mohan Dhanasri (4) from Bhimavaram, Jyothika (3) from Pathikonda, Kurnool, and Lalitha (4) from Chirala. This apart, Ms. Jeevitha also announced a contribution of Rs. 25,000 each for Vamsikrishna (3) from Vizianagaram and Nagarjuna (12) from West Godavari district. They would be treated at the Apollo Hospitals under the `Save a Child's Heart' programme. Paediatric cardiologists, K.S. Murthy and S.R. Anil were present. Appreciating the gesture, the Chief Minister hoped more people would emulate the example and contribute generously, to save the hundreds of children who were identified with congenital cardiac disorders.
