`Tirupati Mao' passes away

TIRUPATI. Oct. 8. Noted activist of the Andhra Pradesh State Revolutionary Writers' Association, Tripuraneni Madhusudhana Rao, also known as `Tirupati Mao,' died in SVIMS Hospital here today due to cardiac problem.

A former lecturer in TTD Degree College here, Tripuraneni was in the forefront,organising meetings of like-minded litterateurs in 1969-70 even before the emergence of Virasam. A firm believer of the Marxist-Leninist philosophy, Tripuraneni was imprisoned during emergency and lost his lecturer's job as well though he was reinstated later.

According to family sources, he will be cremated on Saturday.

A number of literary organisations and the ones founded for the pursuit of radical ideologies and literature besides a number of prominent personalities of the town placed wreaths on his mortal remains.
