DSC qualified to get postings

HYDERABAD, OCT. 8. The Government today decided to issue appointments to qualified candidates of District Selection Committee-1998 as also of DSCs of 1989, 1996, 1997, 2002 and 2003.

They will be absorbed against the regular posts available. They will undergo a crash course before taking over their responsibility.

This decision will benefit 2,949 candidates. About 2,000 belong to the DSC-1998 batch alone.

Stating this to reporters after a review of education matters by the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the School Education Minister, N. Rajyalakshmi, said the appointments would first be given to 17,000 candidates of DSC-2003.

About 10,000 vacant posts are available annually due to retirements.

A decision was also taken to clear arrears of Rs. 33 crores due to grandhalaya samstha employees towards their pension and gratuity and to integrate B.Ed and DIET colleges for teacher training.
