MANGALORE, OCT. 8. Gahan M.G., student of Derik's Chess School here has qualified to represent Karnataka in the national under-11 boys chess championships to be held at New Delhi from October 15. A press release, Gahan (FIDE rating 2025) scored an unbeaten 5 points in 6 rounds and tied for the first place in the State under-11 boys championships held at Bangalore recently. He, however, had to settle for the second place on a lower progressive score. Gahan is a fifth standard student of Canara Higher Primary School, Dongerkery here.
