BANGALORE, OCT. 8. A 26-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run case reported from Airport Traffic police station limits on Thursday night. The police gave the name of the dead as Annamalai (26) of K.R. Puram. He was an employee of a private firm. Around 10 p.m., a vehicle hit Annamalai's motorcycle near ISRO on Marathalli Ring Road and sped away. The Airport traffic police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the vehicle and its driver.
Student ends life
A pre-university student, Vinu Kumar (17) of Channapatna, was run over by a train near the Bidadi railway station on Friday. The police said Kumar had left his house in the morning saying he wanted to visit his relative in Basaveshwaranagar. According to the police, he committed suicide by jumping in front of a train.
Businessman released
A city-based businessman, who was reportedly kidnapped from Hoskote police station limits on September 29, was released in Nanjangud. The Hoskote police brought him here today. Babu alias Krishnamurthy of Jeevanbima Nagar, who was on his way to Kannimangala village, was reportedly waylaid and kidnapped from the Hoskote police station limits. According to the police, Babu, who owns water tankers, telephoned his family to inform that the kidnappers had released him in Nanjangud.
