BANGALORE, OCT. 8. The Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bangalore, will soon get a facelift as the State Government is planning to construct a new building for the hospital. The renovated hospital will be equipped with modern patient care facilities to meet the expectations of patients from all sections of society, the Higher Education Minister, D. Manjunath, said here on Friday. At the inauguration of a three-day conference on oncology, the Minister said the move was aimed at ensuring increased flow of funds to the institute. The Minister read out a speech of the Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, who could not make it to the inauguration. In his speech, the Chief Minister said that the Indian health sector should get the same importance as information technology. The institute Director, P.S. Prabhakaran, said the three-day meet would discuss the emergence of oncological nursing as a separate discipline.
