RRC final round on Oct. 17

COIMBATORE, OCT. 9. The fourth and final round of the Rolon Racing Challenge (RRC) scheduled at the Kari Motor Speedway in Chettipalayam on October 17 promises to be a thriller as top riders and teams in the various classes are close to each other in the championship points. RRC in its very first year has attracted the best riders in the country.

In Group D 4 stroke 80cc to 110 cc category, Preetham Dev Moses enjoys a comfortable lead over his nearest rival Sriskandaraja. Preetham has 51 points as against Skanda's 36.

But, that's not the case in Group D 4 stroke 111 cc to 160 cc. The position indicates a tight contest with not many points separating the top three riders. Rajini heads the table with 56 points. Emmanuel Jebaraj with 48 points is not far away and so is Emmanuel Clarke with 39 points.

Ganesh Prasad, like Preetham, has built up a sizeable lead with 58 points in the Group D 2 stroke 111 to 160 cc category. With V. Gopi and Syed Mansoor far behind with 28 and 25 points respectively, a tough contest is expected for the second and third places respectively.

In the Group C 2 stroke 111 to 160 cc category, Sriskandaraja is ahead with 48 points with Preetham Dev Moses (38 pts.) and Rajini (30 pts.) hot on their heels.

The final round will also witness a novice category and the moped class (up to 80cc) followed by a drag meet for motorcycles during the post lunch session. The drag meet is split into three classes — Group D 4 stroke up to 250cc, Group C 2 stroke up to 160 cc and open class for Indian and foreign bikes for two and four stroke up to 1100 cc.

The qualifiers will be held on October 16 followed by the main races the next day.
