KOLLAM, OCT. 9. Defending champion Kollam men and Thrissur women moved into the semifinals of the State senior ball badminton championships at the Quilon Athletic Club courts here on Saturday. Kollam men thrashed Wayanad 29-1, 29-4 while Thrissur women also made progress by defeating Wayanad 29-2, 29-4.
Men: Kollam bt Wayanad 29-1, 29-4; Idukki bt Kottayam 26-29, 29-10, 29-8; Thrissur by Ernakulam 29-20, 29-19; Kannur bt Palakkad 29-17, 29-13.
Women: Kollam bt Kasaragod 29-8, 29-9; Thrissur bt Wayanad 29-2, 29-4; Thiruvananthapuram bt Kottayam 29-3, 29-2; Malappuram bt Kannur 29-6, 29-7.
