Sunil nets Malappuram's winner
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM,
OCT. 9.
Malappuram overcame Kozhikode by a solitary goal and entered the final of the 32nd State junior football championship at the University stadium here on Saturday.
After a goalless first half, P. Sunil scored the match-winner in the 56th minute.
The goal came off an error by a Kozhikode defender who failed to clear the ball properly. Sunil latched on to the loose ball and advanced into the rival box before scoring off a right footer.
Malapppuram will meet host and last year's runner-up Thiruvananthapuram in the final on Sunday.
