KOCHI, OCT. 9. Globstar Telecom (Aluva) defeated People's Urban Scorpions CC (Tripunithura) by 48 runs and entered the first phase quarterfinals of the 54th Pooja all-India cricket tournament at the Tripunithura Palace Oval on Saturday.
Friday's match: Idukki DCA 224 for seven in 45 overs (Bobby George 56 not out, Ramesh 49, V. Arun 48, K. Ravindran four for 27) lost to Tripunithura CC `A' 230 for five in 43.2 overs (Sreekumar 57, M.A. Sunil 43 not out, Gokul 40 not out).
