BELLARY, OCT. 10. B. Sriramulu, Bellary MLA, and G. Karunakar Reddy, MP, launched the polio immunisation programme in Bellary city on Sunday by administering polio vaccine to children below the age of five at the Health Centre in Gandhinagar. Around 80 per cent of the targeted 3.06-lakhs children are expected to be immunised. The health workers and others concerned would also undertake a door-to-door campaign. Padmavati Yadav, former municipal president; Surekha Goud, councillor; S.N. Jayaram, Deputy Commissioner; G.S. Shivaswamy, chief executive officer; Govind Reddy, municipal commissioner; and H.R. Ganesh, District Health Officer, were present on the occasion.
