Pondicherry
By Our Staff Reporter
PONDICHERRY, OCT. 10. THE Pondicherry State Women's Commission chairperson S. Kamalini said today that she would act to set up sub committees of the Commission in the outlying regions of Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam soon. She told newspersons here the commission would organise special seminars, workshops and interaction programmes. The newly-constituted seven-member commission is in keeping with the provisions of the State Women's Commission Act 2001. Ms Kamalini, a practising lawyer, said that she had information that the police had already initiated action on the basis of complaints by five women here that they had been `harassed' at the workplace and the police had filed an FIR as part of investigation.
