National seminar on Malayalam literature

PATHANAMTHITTA, OCT. 10. K. Ayyappa Panicker, noted literary figure, will inaugurate a two-day national seminar on Malayalam literature organised by the Malayalam department at the NSS College, Pandalam, tomorrow.

In a statement issued here today, the head of the Malayalam department, C. Sasidhara Kurup, said that the education secretary of the NSS Corporate Colleges', R. Prasannakumar, would preside over the inaugural function. The college principal, C.S. Gopalakrishnan Nair, J.Shobhana Kumari, M.Santhamma and K.Jayasree will also address the inaugural function.

Dr. Panicker will present a paper on `the Eastern and Western literary theories', later.

C.B. Sudhakaran of the Cochin College, Ernakulam, Poojappura Krishnan Nair of the Sasthamkottah Devaswom Board College, K.P.Mohanan of the Mahatma Gandhi Government Arts College, Mahe, and A.K. Ramakrishnan of the School of International Relations, Mahatma Gandhi University, will present papers on various topics at the two-day seminar, Mr. Kurup said.

The NSS general secretary, P.K. Narayana Panicker, will inaugurate the valedictory session at 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The NSS treasurer, Perumpulickal Gopinathan Nair, will distribute the certificates to the participants on the occasion.
