KOZHIKODE, OCT. 10. The Janata Dal (S) has decided to launch a series of agitations demanding that the State Government drop the proposal on the Expressway project. A decision to this affect was taken at a meeting of the party here today. The Janata Dal (S) general secretary K. Krishnankutty said that the State president M. P. Veerandrakumar, would lead a procession from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod on November 16. A farmers' meet would be held at Thrissur on November 2 to discuss the issues relating to the problems of farmers.
Condemned
The meeting also condemned the incident at Manjeri on Friday in which the activists of the Muslim Students Federation (MSF) waved black flags and blocked the Leader of the Opposition, V. S. Achuthanandan. The Opposition's ongoing protests against the Ministers was against the wrong policies and not targetted at individuals, he said. Mr. Krishnankutty said that the meeting also demanded that the Government order a comprehensive inquiry into the corruption charges in the industrial, public works and education sectors.
