Bid to disrupt Naidu's meeting
SIDDIPET,
OCT. 10.
Police resorted to a mild lathicharge at Palmakul village in Nangunoor mandal today when some supporters of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) tried to disrupt an election meeting addressed by the Telugu Desam Party president, N. Chandrababu Naidu. A large number of TRS workers waving party flags waited for the TDP convoy and began raising slogans against the TDP. Irate TDP workers shouted back and the situation turned tense.
Amid continued protests by the TRS supporters, Mr. Naidu completed his two-day campaign for his party candidate,Cheruku Mutyam Reddy, for the Siddipet Assembly constituency.
Mr. Naidu alleged that the TRS president, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, was instigating violence to stop the TDP from campaigning.
