KOLLAM, OCT. 10. The host Kollam and Thrissur retained the men and women's titles in the State senior ball badminton championship, which concluded at the Quilon Athletic Club courts here on Sunday. In the men's final, the home team faced little difficulty in holding on to its crown at the expense of Kannur (29-23, 29-16). The women's summit-clash, on the other hand, was a much closer affair. Thrissur had to over come a fighting Thiruvananthapuram 15-29, 29-28, 29-22. The former Kollam Municipal chairman, K. Thankappan, and the organising committee chairman, A.P. Ramachandran, gave away the prizes. Kerala's lone ball badminton Arjuna Award winner, Sam Christudas, was felicitated at the closing ceremony.
