MANGALORE, OCT. 10. A group of five persons, who entered a house at Subhashitha Nagar early today, stole cash and valuables worth Rs. 11,000. The police said Lakshmi (50) and her son opened the door when they heard some noise outside their house. Immediately, the miscreants barged into the house and locked the two in a room. Later, they broke open the door of another house in the same locality. But since it was not occupied, they left the place, the police said. The miscreants were speaking in Tulu and Malayalam.
Arrested
The Pandeshwar Police arrested five persons on the charge of selling pornography material in the private bus stand area in the city. They were identified as Salim of Belthangady, Mohammed Issac of Matadhakani, Abdul Saleem of Padeel, Moideen Kunhi of Bantwal and Pradeep Kanchan of Kalladkka. They were later released on bail.
Raided
The police raided a video parlour at Moodbidri last night and arrested a person on the charge of screening blue films. They also seized equipment and CDs worth Rs. 1 lakh, it is said.
