BANGALORE, OCT. 10. Cookson Group Plc., U.K.-headquartered materials firm, aimed to spend up to $ 8 million over the next one year to do hi-end research at a centre it has started at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and set up a state-of-the-art surface mounted technology facility at Whitefield in Bangalore, according to a release. For the research, Cookson Electronics Assembly Materials, a group company, has tied up with Society for Innovation and Development (SID) of IISc.
