Two arrested, narcotics seized

BANGALORE, OCT. 10. A City Crime Branch police team on Saturday arrested two persons, including a woman, on the charge of possessing and selling narcotic drugs.

The team arrested Masud Ahmed (27) of Mangammanapalya in the Madiwala Police Station limits and recovered 71 gram of brown sugar, a mobile phone and Rs. 200 in cash. The police said the market value of the brown sugar seized was Rs. 4 lakhs. The team arrested Sita Nayak (45) of Ayanur of Shimoga district and recovered 6 kg of marijuana valued at Rs. 30,000.

Arrested

The Sanjay Nagar Police on Friday arrested Naveed (21) of K.G. Halli on the charge of committing burglary.

The police said gold ornaments worth Rs. 40,000 were recovered from the arrested person.

He, along with accomplice, Mohammed Sahil, had burgled houses in the Chickpet and Madiwala police station limits, the police said.

Suicide

A pre-university student, Jatri (17), of Gokul extension in the Yeshwanthpur Police Station limits was found dead in his house on Saturday.

The police said he had hanged himself to death. The reason for the act was not known, the police added.
