N. Rajappa is dead

BANGALORE,
OCT. 12.
N. Rajappa (74), former State secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who had served the party from its Jan Sangh days, died at his residence in Sarjapur here today. A doctor by profession, Mr. Rajappa was a former president of the Bangalore Rural district unit of the BJP. He is survived by his wife and a son. The Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, D.H. Shankaramurthy, said that Dr. Rajappa was one of the founders of the Bharatiya Jan Sangh in the State. The BJP State unit president, H.N. Ananth Kumar, the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, B.S. Yediyurappa, the BJP State unit vice-president, have mourned his death.
