Akash triumphs

BANGALORE, OCT. 12. The top seed and FIDE rated player, Akash Das Sarma, won the senior boys' title in the C.V. Raman Chess Club's monthly tournament here with six points from as many rounds. In the final round, Sarma defeated Srinath.

In the junior section, A. Girish, with six points from six rounds, emerged the champion. In the girls' section, Sakshi and Priyanka Sudhindra tied for the top spot with four points apiece. Sakshi, however, was adjudged as the winner on better progressive score.
