St. Ann's boys in last four

KOTTAYAM, OCT. 12. Host St. Ann's HSS, Kurianad stormed into the semifinals in the boys' section of the sixth St. Ann's Trophy all-Kerala inter-school basketball tournament at the St. Ann's HSS stadium here on Tuesday.

In the quarterfinal, St. Ann's thrashed St. Antony's HSS, Mutholy 40-6. GMHSS, Kozhikode and KKHSS, Mannanam also moved into the last four stage in the boys' section.

In the girls' section, PCGHSS, Velikulangara scored an easy 40-14 win over host St. Ann's HSS, Kurianad to enter the semifinals. St. Theresa's, Vazhapally overcame G.V. Raja Sports School, Thiruvananthapuram 48-22 to move into the semifinals.

Boys: St. Ann's HSS, Kurianad 40 (Aneesh Sukumaran 14, Sreejith 12, Eraneis 10) bt St. Antony's HSS, Mutholy 6; Government Model HSS, Kozhikode 54 (Vipin Vijay 15) bt Infant Jesus HSS, Vazhakulam 28; KEHSS, Mannanam 66 (Jenin 25, Jobin 15, Vineeth 14) bt Carmel HSS, Vazhakulam 42 (Sooraj 17, Joseph 10).

Girls: PCGHSS, Velikulangara 40 (Greesha 12) bt St. Ann's HSS, Kurianad 14 (Jomol K. George 10); St. Theresa's, Vazhapally 48 (Lizy Mathew 21, Teena Annie Thomas 11) bt G.V. Raja Sports School, Thiruvannathapruam (Ann Merin 10).
