Gannavaram airport recorded a maximum temperature of 31.9 degrees Celsius and minimum of 24.5 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. Humidity, which was recorded at 89 per cent in the morning, fell to 83 per cent in the evening.

Following were the prices (in rupees per kg) of essential commodities in the local wholesale market on Tuesday: Groundnut oil - 54, palmolein oil - 42.50 sunflower oil - 52.50, tamarind (flower variety) - 40 to 48, tamarind (karipuli variety) - 55 to 60, chillis (refrigerated) - 23 to 28, chillis - 14 to18, rice (2716) - 12, rice superfine (samba masoori) 13 to 14, rice sona masoori - 15 to 16, black gram (pottu minapappu) -22, red gram (kandipappu) - 27, red gram (Nagpur) 32

Power shutdown

There will be no power supply for customers of the Southern Power Distribution Company in Krishna Lanka and Suryaraopet section from 7am to 1 pm on Wednesday.

The affected areas are Nehrunagar, Indiranagar, Dwarakanagar, Tirumalarao st., Dintyalavari st., Sankaramatham st., Satyamagari compound, Ranadheernagar, in Krishna Lanka section and Visalandhra Road, Brahmanandareddy nagar, Gulam Mohiddinnagar, Lions Club Road, Rama Corporation (Eluru Road), Visalandhra press, Nimmathota area, Dhulipala towers, Siva Ram Apartments, My Home Complex and Lingaiah Foundry in the Suryaraopet section.

Jewellery sale

Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers are conducting an exhibition-cum-sale of gold and diamond jewellery at Hotel D.V. Manor from October 16 to 18.
