This Day That Age
"It is difficult to replace a leader like Mr. Nehru," said Mr. K. Kamaraj, Chief Minister of Madras, when his attention was drawn to the desire expressed by the Prime Minister in his letter to the Chief Ministers and PCC Presidents to be relieved of part of the burden he was now shouldering as Prime Minister and Congress President. Mr. Kamaraj said one should also take into consideration the feelings expressed by Mr. Nehru in this connection. "Probably, Mr. Nehru desires to train a successor. Anyhow, this matter will be considered by the Congress Working Committee at its next meeting. By then, Mr. Nehru would also have returned from his China trip."
